Reflection on Writing and Revision

Imagen
This project helped me understand how writing improves with revision. At first, my sentences were simple and short. After revising, I learned how to use better grammar, connectors, and descriptive words. I also learned how to organize ideas clearly with a beginning, middle, and end. Using APA format was new for me, but I followed the examples and practiced. I feel proud of my writing because it shows my ideas in a professional way. Writing in English is not easy, but now I feel more confident. I will keep practicing and improving.

Language Learning After 40: Motivation and Methods

Imagen
Many adults believe they are too old to learn a new language. But research shows that people over 40 can succeed in language learning with the right motivation and methods. Adults often learn for personal reasons to travel, work, or family. They bring life experience and discipline to the process. According to Oxford University Press (2022), older learners improve memory and reduce stress through language study. Effective methods include repetition, listening to music, speaking with partners, and using visual aids. Teachers should use clear instructions and real-life examples. Technology also helps, apps like Duolingo and tools like Microsoft Copilot support grammar and writing. However, human interaction is still important. In conclusion, learning a language after 40 is possible and powerful. Adults can grow intellectually and emotionally through language education. With patience and support, they can become confident learners.    Citation: Oxford University Press. ...

Learning to Cook Rice Without Oil – Revised

Imagen
When I was a child, I learned to cook rice with my grandparents instead of my mother. At that time, my mother worked long hours, so my grandfather and grandmother taught me their traditional method. First, they showed me how to wash the rice and measure the water carefully. Later, I met a kind woman from a small town who taught me how to prepare rice without using a single drop of oil. That moment changed my view of cooking. Now, with my teammate, I enjoy learning more about that town’s culture, recipes, and traditions. Their way of cooking and living is simple, healthy, and full of meaning. ✔  Annotations: Improved sentence structure (“instead of” adds clarity). Added adjectives (“traditional,” “carefully,” “healthy”) for detail. Replaced “how I saw cooking” with “my view of cooking” for smoother phrasing. Added “recipes” to enrich the cultural context.

Thesis Statement: Adults over 40 can learn new languages with the right methods, support, and motivation. My Experience Learning English I started learning English after I turned 35. At first, it was very difficult. I forgot many words and made many mistakes. I felt shy when speaking. But I did not give up. I practiced every day. I listened to songs, watched videos, and repeated simple sentences. My Grandmother helped me a lot. She spoke slowly and used easy words. I also practiced with my classmates. We helped each other. Now, I can speak and write better. I feel proud of my progress. I still make mista...
