Reflection on Writing and Revision

 



This project helped me understand how writing improves with revision. At first, my sentences were simple and short. After revising, I learned how to use better grammar, connectors, and descriptive words. I also learned how to organize ideas clearly with a beginning, middle, and end.

Using APA format was new for me, but I followed the examples and practiced. I feel proud of my writing because it shows my ideas in a professional way. Writing in English is not easy, but now I feel more confident. I will keep practicing and improving.

Learning to Cook Rice Without Oil – Revised

  When I was a child, I learned to cook rice with my grandparents instead of my mother. At that time, my mother worked long hours, so my grandfather and grandmother taught me their traditional method. First, they showed me how to wash the rice and measure the water carefully. Later, I met a kind woman from a small town who taught me how to prepare rice without using a single drop of oil. That moment changed my view of cooking. Now, with my teammate, I enjoy learning more about that town’s culture, recipes, and traditions. Their way of cooking and living is simple, healthy, and full of meaning. ✔  Annotations: Improved sentence structure (“instead of” adds clarity). Added adjectives (“traditional,” “carefully,” “healthy”) for detail. Replaced “how I saw cooking” with “my view of cooking” for smoother phrasing. Added “recipes” to enrich the cultural context.
